Most hosting accounts, at some stage, receive an "about to exceed their bandwidth limit" email. This is just a simple message, giving a quick rundown of the current usage, usually ranging from 80%-99% until the limit has been exceeded.
In some cases this can be ignored as it may be the final days of the month, however regular notifications, recurring monthly, usually give an indication that it is a pretty good time to upgrade.
The limit is based on a CALENDAR MONTH and can be easily upgraded at any time by visiting your client area:
